Visiting?

We know going some place new can be a tad overwhelming, so here are some of the most common questions.

Worship starts at 10am and most people start arriving about 15-20 minutes before. There is coffee available in the lobby beginning at 9:30am. If you're running late, don't worry - we do it, too!

The easiest and most accessible entrance is on Brambleton Avenue. From here, come in the large, glass doors and you'll be able to find your way from there. Parking is abundant, but sometimes does fill up. If that is the case, drive around to the back side of the church (take Spring or Roselawn to Sweetbrier Ave) to the larger parking lot. There is a ramp and stairs, and an awning marked "entrance" on the back of the building.

Come as you are comfortable! When you walk in you will see some people in coats and ties, dresses, and cute hats, and you will see others in shorts and a tank top. Most people tend to fall in the middle with a bit of a "business casual" fashion sense.

We have a nursery available for our youngest children, but do not require anyone to use it. Children of all ages are welcome in the sanctuary, and in all parts of our worship time as their whole selves: noises, questions, and wiggles galore. During worship, children are invited forward for the Time for Young Disciples to learn along with the adults in a different way. Come forward as you are comfortable, and if your child desires you to join them, feel free to come up, too.

In the time leading up to kindergarten we offer a worship class to our children to talk through the various parts of worship they've been experiencing as they keep growing in their faith. (See Children's Ministry page for more information)

We have moved our bulletins online and no longer print any on paper. In the pews you can find a card with a QR code that will take you to everything you need to know for worship. You can also preview it here.

Worship is structured like the Liturgical Baptists we are: we ring the chime to begin, we light the candles, and we sing responses. We sing along to the organ, the piano, and the praise team depending on the day, enjoy special music as our members share their gifts, and we learn together through the sermon and the Time for Young Disciples. Ultimately, we take our faith seriously, but not ourselves: laughter and joy are welcome in this space.

There are a couple ways to start:
1) If you like to do things online, use our LinkTree and fill out a Visitor's Card and one of our staff members will reach out.

2) Ask someone around you - in this way, you might get some really good, and really different, answers!

3) Reach out to a staff member directly - either while you're here, or by phone or email throughout the week.

After worship, small groups meet throughout the church. Some are based on age and life stage, while others are topical and all are welcome. This is a great way to connect with others. Explore classes for Children, Youth, and Adults.
