“MAC in Motion”

Update

• In 2003, the Grandin Court Baptist Church family approved a three-year capital campaign for the construction of a Ministry Activities Center ( MAC ).  This initial capital campaign will conclude in June of 2006, with estimated capital campaign receipts of  $650,000 to $700,000.

• Projected turn key cost for the MAC is $3.8 million

• The church staff and committees have reviewed the most recent cost revisions and financial implications.

• A second capital campaign is needed to raise an additional $1.6 million in pledges to strengthen our financial position.

• On May 7, 2006, a called business meeting is planned immediately following the morning worship service for the church to act on the following motion:

The MAC Committee is bringing forward to the church the following motion with the concurrence of the Building & Grounds Committee, the Finance Committee, Deacons, Church Council and Church Staff.  We – The MAC Committee - are requesting approval for the construction of the $3.8M Ministry Activities Center building project as proposed by R. L. Price and Balzer & Associates.  A second three-year capital stewardship campaign will be required to raise $1.6 million in pledges to commence contiguously with the conclusion of our first capital stewardship campaign in June 2006. 

When pledges reach $1.2 million, we will authorize Balzer & Associates to proceed with the necessary steps to begin the process of finalizing construction drawings and provide them to R. L. Price for construction to commence.
