MAC UPDATE:
The signing of the loan documents with First Citizen's Bank was approved by the church at our last Wednesday night's Quarterly Business Meeting. This approval locks a very aggressive interest rate (6.1% interest) and special terms (interest only for up to 18 months) for our church to have the construction drawings and construction completed. It is estimated that the construction drawings will be completed by July 2007 with ground breaking in August 2007. Both our architect, Balzer and Associates, and our builder, R. L. Price, are working together to complete this process as a team. The next step is to close the loan with First Citizen's Bank. An appraisal of our existing church structure is required, along with a court proceeding to have this loan approved. We are working with our attorney and the planned closing date for our loan is late February. During this time we will also be getting our permits and preparing the initial phases of construction planning, so when August arrives, we are ready for the inconvenience associated with such a large building project. PLEASE know that we will be working closely with the Building and Grounds Committee and will do our best to provide updates as progress is made.
I would like to thank the many people that have graciously served on the MAC Committee, many for the entire ten years we have worked on this project. In addition, the entire church staff, everyone that served on the Campaign Stewardship Committee for both campaigns, Finance Committees over the years, our church Treasurer, and especially our church family for generously giving to the Building Fund. We started every MAC meeting with prayer and ended every meeting holding hands and asking for God's hand to guide and direct us. It is our prayer that we can use this new facility not just to enhance our facility and programs, but to help us reach people for Christ.
